Red Light Therapy

Red Light Therapy is the process by which red and near infrared light waves are applied to the body for medical use. The near infrared light penetrates to a depth of up to 60mm which makes it effective for treating deeper muscle structures, tendons, ligaments, joints, bones and organs. The red light is also used to treat wounds, cuts, scars, skin conditions, eye health and even certain chronic conditions.

There has been a huge increase in research efforts recently to study the effects of red light therapy on the human brain. It has been demonstrated that light is able to penetrate the cranium (skull) and reach the brain, and is fast surpassing drugs and surgery as the interventions of choice. Strokes, Traumatic Brain Injury, Parkinson’s Disease, Alzheimer’s, and Mental Illnesses are all showing very promising responses to red light therapy.
